What score means I am ready?
Consistently above 90% on full length mocks, not a single pass. The pass mark is 43 out of 50, but scoring exactly that once usually means you get unlucky on the day.
How far ahead should I book?
Book once you are already scoring well, not to give yourself a deadline. Slots are often several weeks out, so you can book when ready and still have time to keep practising.
What if I fail?
You keep your access, so you can go straight back to practising at no extra cost. You will need to pay the DVSA £23 again for the retest.
Does hazard perception really matter that much?
Yes. It is scored separately at 44 out of 75, and you have to pass it in the same sitting as the multiple choice. It is also the half people skip, which is why it is the one that catches them.
